Flex Units Loudspeaker Drivers

Die cast aluminium chassis.
Gold plated input connectors.
Ventilation under the rear suspension.
Voice coil gap ventilation.
Maximum rear ventilation for minimum compression.
Compressed lightweight aluminium voice coil, wound in hexagonal technique.

The Flexunits system was developed to fulfil individual data as desired, in order to meet even the most specific individual requirements – mechanical as well as electrical.

First three codes (f.e. 15H52) are in our article number already.

First number is the size of the driver. For Flexunits, the driver diameter is given in Inches (“) and in centimeters for C-Quenze drivers. Please note, the diameters are nominal and not accurately the diameter of the driver!
Second figure is the magnet code. Due to design and format issues not all types can be used on all models.  It will naturally be problematic, to have a 4” driver, with a 200 mm magnet….
Third figure – the voice coil diameter.  Also with physical restrictions there are three sizes available.

Fourth figure is the required voice coil length (select it).
Fifth figure is the magnetic gap height (select it).

After these choises are made, it is possible to add extra features:

Symmetric Drive (SD) is good for low intermodulation distortion and “speed”.

The voicecoil former is standard made of Aluminium, giving the unit a high power performance.
Kapton (K) gives high mechanical Q-factor and low mechanical resistance. Less power though!
Because Kapton has a tendency to lose control at high excursions, the combination Kapton/Aluminum (KA) can help regain control.

Sandwich (P) cone for better impact (Only for 8, 10, 12 and 15” drivers).

Midrange surround (M) only comes for the 4” Flexunits and 15 C-Quenze and helps getting a flatter response in the mid-band.

Fs, Vas and Qts can all be modified and in special cases the cone material and suspensions can also be changed.

Even the basket edges can be altered in size AND shape:
The top one is standard; the others (any other actually) please ask for.
